To become a pediatrician, you need to get a bachelor's degree first, then go to medical school to get an MD. After medical school, you should enter an intern and residency program in pediatrics. This usually takes four years.

As an undergraduate, you can major in anything -- as long as you take the required premed classes. However, majoring in biology or chemistry is a good idea. You can go to any university -- but if you can go to any highly rate university, it will increase you chances of getting into a medical school.

As for medical school -- US News ranks medical schools. See the link below.

NYU, Harvard, UCLA, Stanford, UCSF, UC Davis, UCSD, Yale, Georgetown, Northwestern, Duke University, USC, Boston University, Univ of Michigan at Ann Arbor, John Hopkins University, Univ of Minnesota, Dartmouth, Columbia University in New York City, Univ of Washington at Seattle, Univ of Pittsburgh, UPenn, Penn State and Cornell all have great medical schools.

But, before you go to medical school (required if you want to be a pediatrician because thats where you get your MD degree) you have to get a bachelors degree. It can be in anything but you will have to fulfill the requirements in order to be eligible to apply for the medical schools, so i recommend majoring in biology, chemistry, biochem or anything that has to do with biology and/or chemistry. Then, after you graduate from medical school, you have to do your residency (probably) at a hospital before you get a job as a pediatrician.

If you're talking about undergraduate studies - It really doesn't matter where you attend or what you study. Medical schools don't really care, as long as you complete the required pre-medical coursework (Usually a few years of science and math) and do well on it.
