Someone asked a really old man this question on the telly a few years back. He was about 85. He gave a brilliant answer. He said asking him at that point with all his ailments and pains then no way. But he said come and ask him again when he's 99 and he'll probably say that he bloody hopes so!

I was paralyzed for a year and had to use a walker for the last 17 years. I have no desire to live to be be 100. If you have a poor quality of life why would anyone want to live that long?

No.

I'll be quite happy to be shot at the age of 99 after being caught in the act by a jealous husband!

I'd like to see my 100th from the hot tub, surrounded by bikini/thong clad beauties,
AND
- able to know they're there
- remember what to do with them
- able to do what needs to be done...

Of course, I'll probably be in bed with an 18 year old - the candy striper doing CPR on me ;)

If one thing is representative of how attitudes have changed towards old age - it's song lyrics:

Originally, The Who said 'Hope I die before I get old' in My Generation. A few decades later, Robbie Williams crooned 'Hope I'm old before I die'.

Personally, I have to say, I'm with The Who on this one...

Honestly? No. I would like to live for as long as I possibly can, but ONLY if I can still function on my own. I would never want to live in a nursing home (my mother works there and the stories she brings home----no one should have to be treated like that!), or be in a hospital constantly. As long as I could take care of myself, I would want to live. But once I have to rely on someone to wipe my booty and cook my meal, the party's over.

I want to live as long as I possibly can... I think the only thing I really have to change though is my eating habit. I eat WAY too much sugar and junk food, but I'm still skinny. Weird.
