I had a friend many years ago who got very mad at me. She ended up breaking the friendship. We saw each other at a mutual hangout on more than one occasion but she never spoke and I knew she was mad so I just felt sad.
Finally, after about 5 years she forgave me. She told me and we have now been friends again for 4 years. If she hadn't of held out her hand we would have lost many good times that just keep happening. Our friendship is very strong now and we are both grateful we renewed it.
Tell them you have let go and see where that takes you...people change.

I think that you should, because then they know that they don't have to be like, extra careful around you or have feelings such as that. If they were your friend before this all happened, this is even more important. You don't necessarily have to say "Remember when you did ...... to me? Well, I forgive you.", just start acting friendly to them and let them know with your actions (or words..whichever you choose) that you aren't holding a grudge and that you guys should just forget about what happened. Buy them a Christmas present! Anything that you can think of to make them feel more comfortable.

If you still hold grudges then I don't think you have forgiven that person but if you do tell that person your forgive them then you should not have any problems telling that person.

Well I am speaking from experience and i mean EXPERIENCE it just depends on what they did but someone told me that holding a grudge against them is only bringing you down and just tell them that YOU'RE DONE HATING THEM!!!!!

Yeah, after a while. If they have done something really wrong, you might want them to feel bad and let them think that you hate them. But after a while it becomes cruel, especially if they're really sorry.

Yeah, I think you should give them a ring and tell them that. I think it will brighten up their day. Good for you for not holding grudges! Merry Christmas! x

Yes, the most difficult and humbling experiences is telling someone you are sorry for what happened, but it builds character. I would definitely phrase it from a "me" standpoint and not lay the blame at their doorstep regardless of who was at fault.

My philosophy is although you ask for forgiveness, people never forget. Let them know that you're resolved with the situation without apologizing.
