first of all... never pay for virus protection as (to my knowledge) there is no paid protection with an on-access-scanner that detects vriuses as they enter your computer. now sure they can sometimes sneek past that scanner, but it also scans your registry and vulnerable files/folders while your computer is running (including while idle). i recommend avg or avast anti-virus as it catches almost all viruses as they are being installed on your computer. if it doesn't, then it most likely isnt harming your computer as much as you would think. now, norton (and almost all other paid protection services) dont bother scanning your computer while idling as it somewhat slows down your computer. but it doesnt tell you when a viruss is being installed, so therefore you will find out that you have a virus after you have been infected. sometimes to the point where it wont let you open your virus scanner or even turn on your computer and actually use it.

as for IE, i would say to uninstall it, and use firefox instead. IE has a lot of holes that lets almost all 3rd party apps install onto your computer without it even being open. while firefox doesnt have that problem, people still are able to install bugs while you are logged onto their site. this is so far the only problem i have with it, or my fellow pc users.

also, if you have a mac, you really shouldn't worry about viruses as not one virus has been made for macs in 3+ years... so mac users shouldnt worry about anti-virus until one has been introduce... plus the unix basing also has a big part in people not making viruses. for any extra info, feel free to email me, that goes for anyone! answer all around!

IEXPLORE.EXE is the main process for MS Internet Explorer to run. I'm guessing you are running a Windows OS computer??
If you're having troubles buddy it's be helpful to provide a bit more info such as IE version, OS version, machine specs, use scenario when the issue occurs (it's only when I'm doing such and such, or playing this game..)and so on. It could be many things but heres a link that might give some pointers.
http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/iexplore.exe?engine=adwords!7175&keyword=%28iexplore+exe%29&match_type=&s_kwcid=iexplore%20exe|1135683968&gclid=CNXQs6Wqv5ACFQkrewodyVYYOw
You could try a different web browser (i use firefox) , but this won't necessarily fix up the problem - IE and it's files are used by other apps and depending on the OS version, even the OS - so it's a bit of an open question.

Need indepth info., on your operating system, before I can provide you a solution or help.

When you go to your task mgr., and you see iexplorer.exe., if you attempt to kill the file, you will get a pop-up telling you that this action can cause system failure. The risk is yours.

Have you gone to your tray, start, open run and type in: c://program files, click on browse, click on program files and look for iexplorer and try and delete from there.

Or you can go to start, search and type in iexplorer and let your PC search for the file and delete from top to bottom. If any file says is being used by another file, just reboot and go back.. Will usually delete the second time.

sounds like someone has hijacked you there.

Get and run spybot, ad-aware SE (these are free) and a firewall dont rely on Windows as this may have security issues. Run your antivirus software, I use and recommend Norton
Also look to use Firefox and not IE and set Firefox as your primary browser.

You can drag a shortcut for the connection to the internet from Control Panel, network connections to your desktop and right click to enable or disable, so your pc is safer.

But i would say you were hijacked
