I was worried when I went away for two weeks. I have a little robin who looks for me now. I thought he would suffer from starving with the ice, but he was there waiting. He loves it when I put maggots out of my husbands box (he is a fisherman)
Some of the larger birds come around too. I love birds.

Colonel us Yanks love our birds as well and most of us do remember them. Thank You, for reminding people. Please remember the squirrels and rabbits as well when ice covers everything it's hard on them.
My garden pond always has an open hole from the aerator.
This year I bought my granddaughter a rather large stocking stuffer a portable/hanging birdbath and a new wren house. She loves the birds.

if you are going to feed the wildbirds this winter, and i hope you do, please remember to do it regularly, and as the birds will come to depend on this please do not let them down. They will have wasted valuable time to come to you, and may miss the chance to feed later in the day.
