It is sad I am 29 and there were a lot of kids that I went to school with that were pregnant at 15 &16 and I couldn't imagine raising a child that young. I am not sure what the problem is not enough education or the lack of parenting I don't know I am not trying to judge just trying to understand it. It is sad when a teenager becomes a parent they have no youth of their own.

well i think 99.99% of the time teenage pregnancy is not planned...it is dumb that teens are having sex so young but what can we do to stop it? This isnt the first time in history teens have become pregnant- heck in some countries teens are SUPPOSED to get pregnant and start families. So what can we do? Lets face it humans have free will, we can't tell teens not to have sex. They are still going to do it.
So we tell teens its not smart and educate them on the negatives. Hopefully the teens make the right decisions but you cant force that decision on them. Teen pregnancy is something that cannot be stopped (sorry) but we can embrace those girls (and guys) who made a bad choice and forgive them and help them through the stuggles of pregnancy.

unless that teenager is thee most responsible, independent, educated, driven person in the whole entire world.. it's okay
but chances are reeeeeeeaaaaal slim
so i think it's not right. And the chances of the father staying is real slim as well. The poor baby would have to go through a real lot. I mean i think it would be easier for everyone if girls waited until they are old enough :)

I think it happens because being a teenager is practically a disorder in itself...they don't know a lot beccause their brains have not fully developed yet...and they go with their emotions rather than thinking things through...and so voila! Unwanted pregnancy...

i think that parents dont take the time out to aware their kids about teenage pregnancy and STDs, me, myself is a teenager, i am a virgin. I know what's right, it's right to wait for the right person and time, be on birthcontrol, use a condom, and talk to your parents about having sex. My mother dont discuss sex topics with us, becuase she knows how responsible and cautious I am.

It depends on the person. I think it's irresponsible, and that for the child's sake, they should have either an adoption or an abortion. It ruins young girls lives if they keep it, and it's so wrong to have your parents take care of it.

I don't understand why kids can't enjoy being young & free. You have SOOOO many years to be tied down & only a few to be free & have fun!
