How do you feel about pre-paid cell phones?

I like them because there are no contracts , no bills. No Credit Check.

They are ideal if you only make calls in emergencies, but you have to make at least one call every 180 days to keep the SIM card active (on my network anyway). My Â£20 airtime has lasted a year and it's not even half used yet!

Waste of money if you are gonna use the phone for a lot of phone calls and texting. I would only use it in emergency cases or for short conversations.
