Since this country was founded on God, shouldn't Bhuddism, Islamic, ect be banned from the USA? What right do foreigners have to come to the USA and demand religious rights?

This country was founded on religious freedom for Christianity. Not Bhuddism or whatever. I'm an American in every sense of the word and I have right to be here because my family has been here for hundreds of years so you have no right to tell me to go elsewhere.

America wouldn't be America if it weren't for Christianity.

No, I'm not insane. America was doing fine until other religions came into the mix. Look back at the 1700s when virtually everyone in America was Christian. Look at American now. It's gone to the dogs.

Amber, I study theology so I am aware of the aspects of other religions. There is a difference between believing in a god and believing in God.

Riegan's Daemon, I'm talking about production wise. Every era has its problems but face it. Mostly everyone was doing better back a few hundred years ago. Look at it now: Murder, Crime, Useless War, Racism
Open your eyes, as I said. I study theology so I probably know about more religions than you do. I'm aware that other religions have a god but they do not worship God.

Are of Christian Identity? Yes.

"Murder, Crime, Useless War, Racism"

All those things you mentioned were predominantly inflicted on minorities by whites. In the 1700's it was in such an uncivilized manner than what it was today. How can you compare both circumstances? The ones who founded this country are of Christian Identity and they didn't have any moral sense when it came to equality.

I do assume you're TRYING to be funny, so here's the dull answer:

Treaty of Tripoli
Article 11 reads:

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

I'd reference a better source, but this is common US History.

I don't think even Wiki could mess that up.

Oh sweetheart you are so uninformed and ignorant. Each of those religions believe in a God. The only difference is the way in which they practice their beliefs. The United States has separation of church and state and freedom of religion so the government has no right to endorse one religion. We all have the right to practice our own religious beliefs.

edit: Sure you study Theology! I would think a person who studies Theology would be more tolerant and have a better view on religion but I guess I'm totally wrong here.

No! This country was founded on Freedom! Don't like it, go somewhere not so free. And stop stealing my Freedom!
You may understand Religion, but all any religion is is a set of rules and guide lines. With out spirituality it's just rules. And you are well outside of the very rules you want forced on every one in this country, Matthew 22:17-22 (New American Standard Bible)

17"Tell us then, what do you think? Is it lawful to give a (A) poll-tax to (B) Caesar, or not?"

18But Jesus perceived their malice, and said, "Why are you testing me, you hypocrites?

19"Show Me the (C) coin used for the poll-tax." And they brought Him a denarius.

20And He said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?"

21They said to Him, "Caesar's." Then He said to them, "(D) Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's."

22And hearing this, they were amazed, and (E) leaving Him, they went away.
Read it and weep. Christians should stay out of politics!

Are you going to re-write the Constitution of the U.S. of A. in order for the separation of the State and the Church to be amended so that there would then be a 'National Religion'. What next? English as the 'National Language'? 'White Male' as the 'National Stereotype'?

Does this quote ring a bell?

"Give me your tired, you poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teaming shore.
Send these, the homeless tempest-tost to me,
I lift up my lamp beside the golden Door!"

Emma Lazarus..."The New Colossus" recited at the Statue of Liberty, New York, 1883.

You should consider studying some other religions. Then you'll discover that they also have a "God". They just do not call it that. Some also have a heaven, but call it a different name (ex. nirvana, mokshura).

I am a Christian, and I have absolutely no problem with other people's religions in the US. We're a country that promotes freedom, so you'll just have to deal with "foreigners and their religions". Oh please...you're showing religious discrimination by suggesting that we ban other religions!

The Answer is quite simple

YOU!

If you feel so strongly, why don't you firebomb a Mosque, or a Synagogue, Questions like this only go towards inciting further hatred & violence.
Fantastic time of year to be asking.....
If this is what Christianity does for you, im converting to the Dark Side.........................

Religious rights shouldn't have to be demanded by any group. People should have the right to practice whatever religion they want.

One problem is when people want every one to agree with or become a part of their religion. This isn't going to happen. Another problem is the fact that some foreigners who come here have no respect for the fact that the US was founded on freedom of religion (founders had Christian religious beliefs). Foreigners want to be an American but want nothing to do with what this country was founded on. Let's face it, everything that this country stood for was based on Christian principles.

You are a disgrace. America is a democracy, not a theocracy. I'd agree with the previous poster that its fundies like you that have taken America to the dogs. How can you even suggest this? This is really upsetting.

Yes - the USA was founded by Christans. BUT all our founding documents require the freedom of religion. That means whatever religion you want to practice is ok. It also means if you choose not to be any religion thats OK too.

People came to America to flee from regligious oppression - creating it in the USA by banning other religions takes us back in time, not forward.

Liberty - freedom - choices - they all play a major role in the success of this country.
