We're still around, it's just that whether people like to admit it or not, the times we are in is making people reconsider our position and move toward our philosophies. Even major networks and corporations are going "green" - how could a tree-hugging hippie not somehow be involved in that? There are a lot of hippies left, we just blend in better now.
No matter what is going on in the world, no matter how bad things get, no matter how many wars are started - somewhere there is a hippie just chillin' in the grass. And in that moment, he or she will understand more about life than every politician, money-grubber and war-monger ever born. He/She will understand peace, and will pass it on, and our legacy will continue...

Hippies will never disappear. We will always be around. You can not always spot a hippie mow a days by the way one dresses! It is all about a state of mind.

Unfortunately they and their ideology are in many different places. For example, some are professors at colleges and universities now. Some are in Congress and are vying for the presidency in '08, just to name a few.
