I just got an iPod Touch. If I were to buy a router, could I for example go to school and still have internet on the iPod?

sometimes, they are 1/8 of a mile. Usually at schools, the routers are encrypted (password protected) so it won't work unless you have a password.

Oh, it really varies to be honest with you. My in-home Netgear router gets me about 50-60 meters, and that's if I'm lucky. I don't think it would reach all the way to school. If it did then that could be bad cause other people could "steal" your internet from a very far distance.

You should be able to change the signal length on the router, but i doubt you'd have access fro mschool, unless u live like right next door

It depends how far your school is from your house.
if it is within 100 meters then yes, that is the average range of a wireless router.
hope this helped.
