You're asking what to wear when you go out on New Year's Eve to a pub, but according to your sentence structure, it sounds like you're asking what do you wear out, which could be your shoes from dancing, your cell phone from calling, your lips from kissing at 12:00, etc. See what I mean?
Anyway, to answer your question the way you really meant it, I'd say if you're going to a pub, depending on how relaxed or upscale it is, dress accordingly. If it's like an informal neighborhood bar, casual dress is okay, like jeans and a hoodie, or sweatshirt. If it's a fancier place, maybe a dressy pantsuit or long velvet skirt with boots and a cami and coverup. Generally one dresses for the occasion, the weather or the ambience. In any event, have fun!

I go all out, it's a New Year celebration! I either wear my little black or red, spaghetti strapped dress, silver heels, and very tasteful jewelry in contrast to the color of my dress. Doesn't matter if it's a pub or a really nice restaurant. People usually wear what they are comfortable with, and I am comfortable in dressing up! :)

Casual but really classy. Simple & elegant. At the pub are my friends and acquaintances of many years standing. We all do it. Well, can't speak for the men, some of them are quite casually elegant as well, but most are still in jeans & tshirts. Doesn't matter, we all have a great time.
