I think there can be more than one, because, let's face it, we aren't the same throughout our lives---as we change and grow, different people fit with us throughout our life's journey.
Why should we limit ourselves in any way? Don't give up hope, my friend, your soulmate is on their way.

I really don't know I thought I'd found mine and it took me several years to get over him but now I'm not so sure he was my soulmate after all. I think its possible that there is a chance of finding more than one person who feels like a soulmate.

I think it's possible. I'm not totally sure I know what the term soul-mate means, but my working hypothesis follows what Jane Roberts said in "Seth Speaks." The basic idea is that any particular incarnation is part of an "over-soul" that may be shared by several people living at the same time, and also by people living in other times. "All the world's a stage, and each in our day play many parts." [Don't have my Shakespeare handy, but you know the one.]
Anyway, the point is it is real possible that you have more than one soul mate. It's also possible that a person who is not part of the same soul, but one that you have loved through many incarnations, is available in more than one body at a time.
How much of this is true, I can't say. I know I have felt "soul mate" about more than one person in my life.

No such thing. It would destroy the theory of evolution. Read some Richard Dawkins or Charles Dawin. Soul mates certainly don't exist in the vegetable kingdom or the animal kingdom.
What you might be confusing is a soulmate for someone who you are extremely familiar with, and thus feel very comfortable with.

i think that each of us have a few potential soulmates.... it is all about timing....... we will happen upon several people who will touch our heart and it may not be the right time to be with that person but we have a true deep connection with them.....

If a person can meet someone who is truly a soul mate then that is very lucky and, more importantly, very special.
No one can 'replace' the woman who was so special to you, but hopefully you will find someone who comes close.
