Yes, just as they would take of the clothes that you died in. They wash up the body. The cast would get really smelly (seriously). Gross, but true.

It will probably be removed if an autopsy was required to determine the cause of your death, or if it would be an unsightly display as you lie in state (at your wake and/or funeral). Why, you aren't leaving us, are you?

Yes they do. They will make the body as natural as possible, and as nice as possible for viewing.
