Why is it that people are being so damn hard on her? All that im hearing on yahoo answers is that she is as slutty as britney and that really pisses me off. She got pregnant oh my god she isn't the first sixteen year old to get pregnant why is it that people have to be so horrible about it. She is doing the responsible thing by coming out and taking responsibility for what she did. No she shouldn't be a rolemodel for young girls but does that give people the right to judge her. What are your thoughs on the whole Jamie lynn thing. I wonder why girls have abortions could this be it they don't want to be looked at like Jamie lynn spears is?

I just though I would ask this question here because I always read answers regarding sympathy to a girls right to abort however it doesn't seem to go the other way around.

i dont know what the big fuss it about shes 16 and if she made the decission to have sex at 16 she should be responsible enough for what came out of it , which i think she is , shes keeping the child and she has the ability to take care of the child financially and she has a mother who will assisnt her so i dont see the big deal . yah she made a mistake but shes only human , besides why do parents get so mad that the "role model" imagine is ruined they should learn to bring their own kids up and not say "oh a 16 yr old got pregnant now my kids will be bad" or some crap like that , its bullshit , we all do what we want no matter the age

i don't give one rats butt about Jamie Lynn Spears, and that is about double what I care about her sister, Brittany.

I do think that having gotten pregnant that she is doing the right thing, being honest that is was a mistake, and taking responsibility for the situation. I hope that miss Jamie turns out to be a much better parent then her sister, but with the bar that Brittany set being so low, Jamie can't be worse.

She is not the first 16 year old to get pregnant, but she is a celebrity, and so should expect both support and critique on everything she does. Just getting pregnant is the beginning, she will be judged on everything from what she names the baby, if she and the father marry or not, how she dress' the baby, how she goes about having the baby etc.

I totally agree with you! Honestly I'm sick of hearing about it I mean really they need to leave the girl alone...she 16 and pregnant wow how many time does this happen? A lot so I don't know why the media and everyone else is making a big deal out of it...Should they take her off the show yes...I mean she isn't a good rolemodel for young girls but its up to the parents to let their children know that thats not right and they shouldn't want to be 16 and pregnant...But 16 year old is going to do what she wants to do! But I agree with you 100%

good point i think the problem is with parents and all that has kids is that the let there kids look up to these stars as role models jamie lynn might be famous but she is a teenager that choice to have sex and now shes pregrant thats something that her and the babies father will have to deal with no i dont think that makes her a slut at all she just made a choice that has effected the rest of her life

so i hope she has a healthy baby and she continues too do the right thing by that baby

The decision not to abort doesn't make her more or less "responsible." Abortion is NOT killing a child; it's a medical procedure that entails removing a non-sentient embryo or fetus that neither thinks or feels ANYTHING.

People are responding to the fact that she was irresponsible enough to get pregnant in the first place. I agree that she doesn't deserve to be judged harshly, but unfortunately that's the price she's paying for being the sister of a celebrity.

I actually feel kind of sorry for her. She's probably living in the shadow of her famous sister. Also, I heard she was living with the father. At 16, even though she seems mature, I don't think it's such a hot idea to live with a guy. Maybe her parents messed up, or maybe she's just a normal 16 year old with raging hormones. At any rate, she seems to be handling it maturely and I wish her the best.

I totally agree with you, She is doing the resonsible thing and it's not like she doesn't have the money to take care of the child, a lot of women do have abortions because of the message sent out by society of the whole single teenage mom crap, but if she considered herself responsible enough to do the deed at least she is responsible enough to deal with the consequences of her actions. I say she did the right thing.

Cause she is 16yrs old and millions of young kids watch her everyday on Nickelodeon. Then the father committed a crime by fathering the child. So her boyfriend might go to jail and parents are gonna have to explain to their kids that getting preggers at 16 is not ok.

I agree. I have a student who's sister recently became a teenage mom. I don't harass my student repeatedly and keep telling her that her sister made a poor choice in life. I do ask how the baby is doing, etc. My student looks exhausted daily, as she gets up peridically through the night when the baby does.

Our society needs to stop accepting that it's okay to get pregnant at 16. People are having children like it's a fashion statement. It's pathetic. These children will be our future, and they are being treated like pets. That's why people are being hard on her. Her sister is doing a bad enough job on her kids. Let's make it worse!!
