We live in Florida but are going up to Savannah, GA for New Year's. I wanted to know where my wife and I can find some snow to go sledding. Any ideas?

I would say Gatlinburg, TN; and the local airport also serves Ashville, NC. However, travelworld international magazine says Appalacian Ski Mtn. (NC) is the only southern ski hill that received enough snow to open all of their lifts. Perhaps you can find a sled area near there. And, ... hopefully that isn't too far out of the way for your Savannah, GA trip.

on the ground right now, you can find a couple of ski resorts in northern NC mountains, that has made there own snow. your more likely option would probably be further north in W. Va. Otherwise stayed tuned to the Weather Channel, who knows you may find a snow storm come in a little closer.

I live in Miami, miss seeing the snow too. I lived in New York I think the only place close will be North Carolina.

I really doubt you'll find enough, if any snow in Savannah to go sledding...go further north...

in north Alabama, close to Chattanooga, is a hill billy ski resort call Cloudmont... it has one ski slope and you can rent all your equipment... but be ready to share the slope with some true rednecks

there wont be any in Georgia...go further north to Virginia or Kentucky if ur lucky
