When someone refers to God speaking to them, they can mean many different things.
1. I read the Bible & try to follow the principals set forth therein.
2. I feel lead by God to do good.
3. I feel strongly about something; it must be God telling me I must do this.
4. I hear a voice. It must be God.
Of course anyone who thinks Cheney is the same as the Devil will assume Bush means #4.

My question would be why would God tell Bush to lie to the world and to torture people. Also, why didn't God tell Bush that OBL was about to kill 3000 US citizens on 9/11? Why would God tell Bush to keep Rumsfeld until losing the 06 elections?
The problem with the self proclaimed "Christian right" is that everything they support is in total conflict with the teachings of the Bible.
The self proclaimed "Christian right" teaches hate filled, merciless vengeance. Greed and disdain for the poor are also part of their platform. I've never seen such pompous arrogant vengeful people in my life. They think they are perfect while the rest of the world is wrong. I'd like any of them to show where Christ teaches these things to his followers.

It is Cheney isn't it. That guy is indestructible.
No Bush just said that crap to gain the support of the Christain Coalition and related assorted loons. He cares nothing about bible-thumping and all that.
He's just out to make as much money for the Bush dynasty as possible-and he's doing a brilliant job at it.
The Presidency and the welfare of the US and inhabitants? Not such a good performance.
But he's an oilman- and he's making mega bucks.
