EX. I type the word "Google" in the Url top bar and it takes me to Yahoo search engine and searches the word "Google". I want it to go the Google search engine and search the word "Google".

Go to Google, or GoogleUK if you're in the UK, and then on Firefox go to:
Tools>Options>Main>Use current page.

This will make Google your homepage and google will be the main search engine when you typr a word in the url.

There is a little search bar (usually in the upper right hand corner to the right of the green arrow) for searches. My guess is that it is set to Yahoo, try and click the down arrow and change it to Google instead.

try changing ur homepage to Google.com
