Bittersweet victory is when there is some bad that comes with the good.. or the "win" doesn't feel as good as it should.
For instance, you are looking for a parking spot in a shopping center during the holidays.... you suddenly spy one and race to get it... you see ol granny pokeying up to the spot and you just nab it before she does. HA! I got the parking spot... butttttttt ol granny has to walk 3 miles from where she finally found a place to park. As she is walking toward the mall, she gets run over by a reindeer. Good for you, bad for granny.

My divorce. I lost the wife which I thought was a 50/50 proposition at best.
But the two kids stayed with me and that was defiantly a win.
