"The Stranger" by Albert Camus
It's short, the writing style is very simple, and I love that book.

My, my, that IS a toughie.
I can't decide.
Possibly Dibs In Search of Self, which I love, and which I think is a very valuable book.
But then, there are so many others. To Kill a Mockingbird, but there are probably other people who'd memorize it.
On Certainty is a very important book.
But loving humor as I do, I might go for some James Thurber -- possibly My Life and Hard Times.

I'd memorize Farenheit 451. Duh-uh.
Actually, I'd probably memorize either The giver by Lois Lowery or The Lorax by Dr. Seuss.

Wernher von Braun's and F.I. Ordway, III's
History of Rocketry & Space Travel
or
Terry Southern's
Dr. Strangelove
because it would be a good idea to get away from those who would deny knowledge.
