Fact: Republican Senators have brough 62 fillibusters in the first year of the 110th Congress. This passes the previous mark of 61 fillibusters in a Congressional term and we are only half-way though this one!!!

Yes, I know what a fillibuster is. Technically what they have done is to threaten a fillibuster and force a cloture vote, but most people wouldn't understand what that meant. The end result is still that a minority of Republican Senators can block legislation from passing and they have done that twice as often as has ever been done before.

Martini, Yes, I do remember the "nuclear option." As I recall, Republicans were so outraged because the Democrats were doing what the Republicans are now doing at twice the rate it has ever been done before.
And dude, I'm not the one who is supposed to answer correctly. YOU are.

That should be obvious: for the last 7 years the neoconservatives have been blaming everyone and everything for the problems they've created-except themselves.
Its not just Congress. The white House tried to blame Valarie Planes because her husband told them Saddam wasn't buying yellowcake. They blamed the "media" for their failures in Iraq. Foley blamed the kid who blew the whistle on him. Craig blamed the cop who arrested him. Bush s now trying to blame the Democrats because they only managed to cut 57 % of the GOP earmarks the first year (!).
And the whining about accountability. Bush doesn't want documents released, doesn't want investigations, etc. Firing lawyers for doing their jobs when it involves going after corrupt GOP politicians. Excusing Scooter Libby.
And the biggie: violating the Constitution by avoiding accountability for warrentless wiretaps and other required LEGALLY REQUIRED oversight.
So what's a few filibusters, more or less? Just more of the same neocon BS.

The republicans are blaming the democrats because The democrats are now the majority
The democrats will blame the republicans for inaction when the republicans have the majority. either way , nothing gets done.
That's basic political strategy , always blame the opposing party.
To quote Will Roger's, "The more you read and observe about this Politics thing, you got to admit that each party is worse than the other. The one that's out always looks the best"

Because the Democrats are proposing legislation they KNOW will not get passed on the grounds that it is totally unreasonable. The democrats talked about working with the president and are now doing the exact opposite. They NEED to get their heads out of their asses and start thinking about what is best for the nation instead of pushing their own shallow agenda.

Fair is fair. Dems never played 'fair' when the Rep's had their turn, the Dems are STILL blocking Bush's appointments, normally a given for ANY new president. But who's first in line to complain when the shoe is on the other foot? Yep. The Liberal Dems who dish it out but can't take it!

I heard Bush bashing the Democrats as a jest. The Democrats were voted in supposedly as a party of change. They even had a plan for the first 100 days. They quickly got bogged down because they weren't disciplined enough to stick together. Bush was just calling the Democrats a weak party.

Because they just want Americans to think that the Democrats dont get anything done. Then, they would be elected back into power during next year's election. Republican senators know that Democrats wont have enough votes to remove the fillibuster if a fillibuster is on.

Do you even know what is filibuster? Or when was the last time a filibuster was used?
Edit:
The Democrats has done the same to the other party when they were not in control of Congress.
Remember the "nuclear option" as a filibuster buster?
A filibuster cannot be remove by a vote. Once again, pls learn what filibuster is and you would know how to answer properly.

Because the Democrats played the same cards on the Republicans when they last had the majority.

They know the Dems can't pass any legislation that significantly changes the course of this Administration, because right or wrong the Repubs will not join them to override the inevitable veto. Not content with simply being obstructionists, they also find the time to taunt the Democrats about it like school yard bullies. And they wonder why this country has had enough of them.
