Utter BS. This is the type of publicity which shows you that $tern and co. are willing to stoop low and use half truths to hype somebody up to generate interest on the League. Makes you wonder about some other examples of these half truths that $tern's hype machine is spewing about (eg. Lebron is the "youngest" to reach 9000, Jordan is the "greatest", etc.).

Bryant needed 811 games to reach 20000 points. Thats the 15th longest.

In contrast, Wilt only needed 499 games, Jordan 620, Oscar 671 and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 684. Can you honestly put Kobe's achievement on the level of these guys?

This is only temporary. Lebron is smashing all of Kobe's "youngest player to score...." records, it's just a matter of time before Lebron becomes the youngest player to score 20,000.

i said it before, kobe is a great player. he has to make his team better & win one without shaq. if he does, he could be the greatest. until then , MJ is the greatest!!!!! besides MJ played three years at UNC & kobe came in out of high school.

LoL, this record means nothing

why?

Kobe came into the league at 18 years old, and it took him to 29 years old before he made 20,000.

MJ came in like 22 or 23 years old and has 20,000 before he was 30.

so does being the youngest have any meaning? no. they should count the years in the league. unless they expect people to come into the league at 19 and not do anything until their 23, then being the youngest doesn't mean a thing. it still took him over 10 seasons while it took MJ far less than that. and MJ even lost like 3/4 of a season during his sophomore year.

well, MJ and Wilt are the next on the list in youngest to 20,000. of course neither of them came into the NBA during their teens
