Hey! It really isn't that bad! A few miles away from Fairbanks is WAY nicer than a few miles away from Bethel!

(Besides, those Pacific islands don't have a supply of large flying mammals, such as reindeer! Santa would have to use Komodo dragons)

Because, of course, deserted islands are constantly being used in movies and such, or being landed on by castaways with soccer balls named Dennis. Nobody ever goes to the north pole. That way Santa can keep himself a secret.

When I was little, my mom use to tell me he lived at the North Pole because he wanted a place far away and very cold and snowy so it would be uninviting and difficult for people/children to visit. Therefore he could he could keep in hiding and keep the North Pole, his headquarters, and what goes on there secret. I bought it!

The paparazzi would be all over him if he lived in a nicer climate. Could you imagine explaining to a child why Santa made the tabloids?

Well I think if he lived in a hotter place, people would come and visit him all year round and he wouldn't be able to have the time to make gifts. And the Arctic is a huge place he'd be able to expand is factory toy without anyone bothering him or his elf's.
