wow- I dont know! he does need to respect your privacy though. Try entering his room as you please! or try getting a roomate. If he is on the lease try asking him if you could sign him off (a roomate release) to avoid further problems. If you cant afford it on your own, try craigslist.com or roomates.com and search for a new roomie to replace.

He must respect your privacy. Neither man nor woman has a right to enter without your consent. An exception might be a landlord to do maintenance. Even then privacy should still be considered.
It sounds like this could become a violent situation, since he threatens to remove it one way or another. Platonic or otherwise, this relationship does not seem to be the one for you.
Move out. Go to a woman's shelter, if you have to. If there is a question about the rent or possessions, check with your lawyer or legal aid.

He does not have the right to enter your room without your permission first, especially if your name is on the lease as well.
Why does he need to come in there anyway?
Is he going through your personal things while you're away?
I would find another room mate. And maybe tell the management that you are looking for another place to stay and if they know of anyone else looking for a room mate.
Then I'd tell them what he is doing.
That seems like an invasion of privacy to me.

No. He has no right to enter your private space without permission. You are not wrong for getting a deadbolt. If he tries to remove it, I would try to remove him from the apartment, permanently. You have a right to privacy and he is wrong.

If he owns the home, he has a right to go into any room he wants to - but it is rude of him to enter without your permission.
However, again, if he owns the home, you did not have the right to install a lock of any kind without his permission.
I suggest you find a new place to live and make sure before you move in that boundaries are discussed.

Regardless of gender if you are paying rent for a room then room if off limits and your privacy should be respected-your roommate is very wrong and I would consider getting a new roommate or moving out of there-it sounds like he's looking for more than you bargained for!

Are you paying rent? If so, you can do whatever the heck you want to do in order to keep this pervert out of your room. I think I would find another place to stay before this creep ends up raping you.

You have to report this to your landlord!!
Your room mate and actually not even your landlord can enter your bedroom without your permission!!
He's got no right and is making you feel unsafe and uncomfortable!!

Move out. He's a jerk and will always be a jerk. You have your right to privacy, especially with roomates.
