You have a term schedule if you are taking 7 classes a day. A block schedule is if you take a concentrated version of one or two classes for a short period of time, then move on to new classes.

Depends on your school, I know here in FL when I was in high school govt and economics werent full year courses anyway so you ended up taking one 1/2 the year and the other 1/2 the school year.

Anyway to answer your question according to FL standards (not sure where you are) you have a term schedule. With a block schedule you take 4 classes one half the year and another 4 the second half. You usually end up in the classes a bit longer and the benefit of a block schedule is that every year you end up with one extra credit.
