Well, at least in the Hockey Section, have you ever voted for yourself, with a better answer than yours, just to get the best answer?

Um..........that is how the system works. Everyone should be going to vote for their answer as best answer in my opinion. It is up to people who did not answer the question to give the extra votes.

I have to admit that for about a month now, I have not been voting for my answers in an attempt to allow Bob Loblaw to catch up.

In the hockey section? No, I think the only time I voted on best answer in here though was when it was my question that I voted as having no best answer. Stupid Yahoo wouldn't let me PICK no best answer when the question was open, even though no one actually answered the question I was asking, so yeah had to wait and vote there was no best answer. In other cases I plead the fifth lol, seriously I have voted for myself and not sure if any of the others were really better. Although I do vote for others sometimes, even if out lol.

Nope. What's the point in doing that? If someone goes through all the trouble of researching the right answer and I come along and throw out a bunch of BS, I'll give the best answer to the guy who earned it. If that happens to be my answer, I'll vote for it, if it's someone elses, then I'll vote for that one.
I come on here to have a few laughs, talk about hockey and maybe learn something in the process. I don't come here to win awards or make myself look like something I'm not. If somebody took all my points away, I'd probably not notice for a week and even then I doubt if I'd care.

Well as you can tell from my Top Contributor golden bar, I mostly answer questions in the American football category but I do answer hockey questions every once in a while. Usually when I know an answer is indeed better than mine I vote for it otherwise I vote for my answer although one time in a question in which another answer was by far better than mine, I was shocked to find out that three people voted for my answer as best answer. It was probably because I was the first answerer in that question but still I thought the answer below me was 100 time much better. Here is a link to the question and you tell me which answer is better. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgHRWFjvMK6uhmP.XUS8CjPty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071217083507AAgv5Xu&show=7#profile-info-e7576a139b6789e59e2195c707b6c228aa

I read all of the answers, and the best one wins. You see Spud, when you get older, you forget what you did 5 minutes ago, let alone, 5 days ago. Many times I have no idea if I even answered the question or not.

BTW, Thanks everyone!!! I got the 63 votes last night!!! I have never had so many people back me up on here. *blushing*

Sometimes Spud. especially if there are a number of answers that are the same. I can't always remember which questions I answer anyways.
When I ask a question I award a best answer. Half the time I just ask a question for the hell of it.
Why does anyone ask a question if they don't plan on awarding the best answer? There's no need for most of the questions to go to vote. I think if you ask the question you should pick a best answer.
Do you find a problem with voting for your own answer? Don't you get to vote for yourself in any election?

i have voted for mine as best answer a few times but not realizing it until the voting was over and i got BA i honestly dont try to vote for my answers because i think that yes sometimes i feel that i have answered to the best of my ability but it is up to the person that has asked the question to choose the best answer but if they do let it go into voting it is up to the public to vote not me on my answers

what u mean my answer always is the best answer out there just people never realize it.... uggg maybe someday they will.

btw if u don't think u gave the best answer why bother answering the question.

if questioner couldn't be bothered to pick a best answer those 10 points are a toss up. you got to go get them drive hard into the corners and get that loose change.

honestly i pick my answer if its a BS question, if its a serious question i pick the experts (and that isn't just one person, several unlabeled experts out there.)

one more thing
in life if you wait for something to come to you, the wait may take a while. hurry it up go out and get what you want any means necessary...

Actually no Spud. It has been tempting but so far I make sure to read the answers and vote for others. I'm not into points, tags, or titles here.
