Yes, but Santa was playing a prank on me. I was like five, I cried and was in the middle of writing a letter to tell him sorry when the real gifts showed up. lol.

I'm one of the oldies on here and when I was little the coal man used to deliver coal to our house every week,at Christmas he used to give my Mum a bag of coal free for her custom. We didn't have gas fires and central heating then,it seems like a lifetime away now with the luxuries I have.I suppose it is really it was 55 years ago!

After many warnings by my Father. my older Brother received a lump of coal, beautifully boxed and wrapped including a bow with a note that read: " Each Family member is assigned a chore to take care of throughout the year. Since you did not do one thing, this is what you get from me. Should you decide not to carry your weight the same as your Brother and Sisters, you will get the same gift each year until you do. " Signed: Santa" He finally got the message!!! Protestations from my Mother that after all he was a little boy and should get something fell on deaf ears. Once my Dad made up his mind to something, he was unmovable.

I'd like to get coal. At least someone was thinking of me in some way. This year, I know I'm getting nothing. I've come to realize most people I associate with these days wouldn't even notice if I was dead.

Good question....it has never happened to me in 30 years....although there have been years when I have almost been scared it COULD happen. I am fairly confident it will not happen this year.
