Yes I have when I was very young around 5 years old. My mom would take me and I was just as scared as you were being young and what not. I couldn't ice skate and I'd fall. I remember a girl had to hold my hand just so I wouldn't fall. I learned though its really easy just as long as you keep your self in motion its kind of like roller skating too. Once you get the hang of it you can stand on ice skates without falling. The last time I went was like two years ago.

Yes, long time ago. I am not the best but I could manage to not fall.
What amazed me was my oldest daughter when she was about 7 or so. She couldn't roller skate for nothing, she would fall every 2 inches so when she was invited to a ice skating party I was concerned she would break a arm or leg.
She fooled me, she took off on those ice skates like she had been skating for years. She didn't fall one time!

My first time ice skating I kept falling down (i was afraid of that but then after a while you get used to falling and it doesnt hurt all that much). You should start slowly for about 10 minutes then get faster untill you finally get the hang of it. This is what I did!

Oh, everyone falls, that's a given. Don't worry too much about it. If you've ever gone roller skating or roller blading, you will find there isn't much difference.
A couple tips: One, do NOT get double-bladed skates. They really don't help with balance and will hinder your improvement in the long run. Two, make sure your blades are nice and sharp. Dull blades are much, much harder to skate (and keep your balance on).
If you are truly nervous, many communities with ice rinks have beginner lessons. Look into those!

I usually take my daughter ice skating at Christmas time. Shes very good and although I have never fallen (yet!), I skate around the edge of the ice rink so I can hold onto the barriers! I have never ventured into the middle yet and I don't think I ever will! I'm quite happy skating away around the edge!
You should try it, its good fun, but very tiring!!

you never know till you try! Its really fun...and great for the leg muscles. If you go during the week, there are less people there and you have more room. Falling is fun too....if you have a lot of room in the ring...you can speed up and then fall on purpose and slide down the ring like you are coming into home base...its fun!

Tried it twice, first time sprained my wrist falling over and the second time was clinging to the side for all life's worth and was grabbed by somebody because they had formed some sort of line and I was on the end of this going quite fast. Never again!
