The best reasons to have a minor which does not necessary match with your major is that it is something you love, but which you don't think is practical enough to base a career on (or that could be your major, in your case, with a more practical minor). I think that, assuming your college offers a business minor, you could do that along with your philosophy major. You probably won't be able to specialize (I always have people calling me saying they want to minor in marketing, but we only have a general minor in business), but you can use the skills as an entrepreneur if that is what you end up doing (and if you go into law and become a sole practitioner, the business skills will be helpful in your practice.

Your minor can either supplement your major or be in an area you are interested in. If you are interested in entrepreneurial business then you should minor in this area. However, if you are having doubts about possibly going into law school, then I would suggest for you to think about what other fields you would like to go into.

Try business, economics or political science.
