No, nationalism is way to strong. Germany, for instance makes it next to impossible to become a citizen. If they became like the USA, then the Black English citizens would be USE citizen and be able to vote in Germany. T'aint gonna happen.

That's a very interesting question. To be honest I don't know. Right now Europe is integrating in almost every way that they can. But I would have to agree that there is too much nationalism and little diffrences to overcome. I'm not saying that it can't happen, because I do believe it is possible sooner or later. So, to answer the question, no. I don't think a majority of European citizens have any desire to transform their loosly held confederation of nation-states into a Federal United States of Europe.

No. Even today there are too many "opt out" provisions being exercised by the various national governments in Europe to prevent what they perceive as loss of sovereignty. The populations of some EU nations are already upset over the effects of the free movement of labor scheme guaranteed in the Maastricht Treaty. British residents wonder where all the Poles came from. Dubliners are amazed with the presence of so many French. German labor unions decry the presence of Welsh and Scottish ironworkers on the new skyscrapers of the former East Berlin.

No, but the US, Canada and Mexico will become the North American Union, modeled after the European Union. Read Jerome Corsi's book, The late great USA.

naw, i doubt that. It's more an organization like the U.N. than the United States. Already people are having problems with many countries within the EU arguing about losing their sovereignty.
