Freddie Blassie. Actually I would watch wrestling with my grandparents when I was 4 or 5, but it was a few years later when I got hooked on wrestling. Because of mostly one man: Freddie Blassie, the greatest heel in the history of pro wrestling! In the late-60's he was terrorizing Southern California (where I live). Biting people, making them bleed, some of the best trash-talking I've ever seen, awesome promos. He scared the hell out of me! My younger brother and I would watch every Saturday to see if somebody, anybody, could beat him. A few years later a more despicable, dirty, backstabbing heel came in to the area (John Tolos) and went after Blassie. Blassie turned face and became the most beloved wrestler in Southern California. Blassie and Tolos went on to have, in my opinion, the greatest feud of all time. Brutal, violent, bloody, cage matches, dog collar matches, Tolos "blinding" Blassie in one eye on TV, some of the best promos (from both men) I've ever seen. Even the legendary Tommy Rich vs Buzz Sawyer feud (mentioned above by another user) paled in comparison, in my opinion.
I've been a fan since the first time I saw Blassie's sinister smile. RIP Freddie, you were the greatest heel of all time!

It's always been on in my household. My cousins watched it growing up, my big brother constantly brought home Iron Sheik, Barry Windham, Ric Flair, Fabulous Freebirds and SD Jones action figures home (and shot the rubber ones with his beebee gun in the backyard) but I think the defining moment that marked me down as a wrestling fan was the Black Scorpion/Sting feud. I know, looking back now, it's really lame. I was around 4 or 5 at the time, and I knew the Black Scorpion was either Ric Flair or David Copperfield, and i was leaning towards Ric.
I even remember sitting down and watching the feud culminating cage match, it was probably the longest I sat still during my childhood. Ever since that angle, I've been really hooked. I remember seeing faces like Warrior and Hogan growing up (even had the wrestling buddies of both men) and coming close to tears watching my favorite faces getting beaten down.

The same as you, it was Sting. WOOOOOOO!!!! The face paint, the Stinger Splash and the Scorpion Deathlock.
There is TALK, nothing concrete, that WWE is interested now more than ever to sign Sting to a contract. Ric Flair is in the waning months of his wrestling career. He's made it known that he wants to wrestle either Sting or Triple H in his last match.
It would make my year if that were to happen. I'm thinking something like a dual retirement match or something. It would be fitting since they had the last match in WCW history.
Regards,
Brandon

The Nature Boy Ric Flair and the Hot Rod Roddy Piper trashtalking each other and fighting all over the set on NWA's old saturday Night TV Show in 1982 is what hooked Me.
And yeah...both guys are still among the best to Me as well.

This sounds pathetic
but a long time ago my cousin
got a WWE video game. I started
playing it and got into the game and
decided to get a game of my own. Before
I knew it I decided to watch the actual WWE
and I fell in love.

The number one reason is the divas. But for the main wrestling it would have to be rey mysterio and john cena. I thought they were cool so I started watching just to see them fight.

My girlfriend was into it in late '99. I saw the "forced" retirement of Mick Foley and then read his book while on the road for 3 months. I got addicted to the storyline just as my girlfirend got tired of me.
