My computer has been going crazy for the past two days. I been trying to fix up some problems and finished removing Ultimate Cleaner [safe mode, smitfraudfix], but my computer is still extremely slow.

How can i fix this?

I always remove programs i don't use and i only keep the icons that i use everyday on my desktop. I ran like 4 antivirus/spyware/adaware programs already.

Use several softwares to clean and tweak your computer. Try CCleaner and Defraggler. They are both very reliable freeware. Use CCleaner to repair bad registries and disable some startup program, which might be a solution to the problem. Use Defraggler defragment your system so it will run faster. The defraggler is much faster and effective then the defrag program Windows have- http://www.piriform.com/products

Have you tried the typical "oil change" for computers?

1- Update all anti-virus and spyware cleaners to their latest level. Do full system scans. If possible, use an anti-virus that does a boot-time scan (so it runs before windows is loaded).

2- Defrag hard drive and run check disk (r-click hard drive > properties > tools).

3- Uninstall any programs that haven't been used recently. Many computers come pre-loaded with a ton of junk. There's a nifty program called PC Decrapifier. Might want to give that a shot.

4- Use task manager and sort by memory being used. Sounds like there's a runaway process that's chewing up memory. Google the process name to find out if its legit or not and how to turn it off.

5- Black Viper has an excellent website walking you through which services to disable. Many services start up automatically and never used- but they're still hogging resources and leave your PC more vulnerable. Google "black viper windows services" for details.

6- Do you use a firewall? If not, get one. Snapfiles.com or softepedia is a good resource.

Worst comes to worst, you can always rebuild if you have the original install disks. I do this a few times a year to wipe the slate clean. I create two partitions or use two hard drives. First is my C drive for the Windows OS, and the second drive is my D drive for data / documents, etc. This way, if my OS ever crashes hard, my data is safe on the other drive / partition.

Hope this helps! ~Slacker

Sounds to me like you have a virus or a worm.
