of the end of Insurance Corp tyranny?

The Cigarette Industry caved in under the weight of thousands of wrongfull death lawsuits. Are we seeing the beginning of an even BIGGER wave of murder lawsuits that will destroy the Insurance Coprs in a similar fashion?

What say you Little Tall?

When it is as blatant as this case,I hope the CEO's go to prison! The whole debate was on if you're insured ,or not. Now it's whether the ins. will pay out a claim. They aren't doctors, they are just in charge of protecting profits for investors. EVERY for profit corporation is mandated to make money for their investors, otherwise there would be no point to investing. How would a private, 'for profit' fire dept. work out ? You call, and a voice on the other end starts asking all sorts of meaningless questions before sending the fire trucks out to put out the fire. What if every other house didn't have the 'insurance' for fire care? The whole neighborhood could burn down! Our whole health care system could fail if we don't get a Universal Health Care Plan right away! I was covered under my wife's plan where she worked. She came down with cancer, got treated and is doing fine with chemo, but she lost her job, thus our ins. Now I'm not covered at work, and we had to get divorced in order for her to get Medi-Care & S.S. Not much money in our house to spend on gifts ! Our bills each month are ALWAYS just a bit more than we pull in. Soon we will have to sell the house and try to find somewhere else to live. The trouble is anywhere you look, the rents are more than we pay now in house payments to the bank. That's why homelessness is a growing problem. Solve the health care crisis, and you solve alot more in the process!

Insurance companies have a huge and well-funded lobby. These companies have become way too powerful in dictating what medical procedures can be used. It's past time for a good shake-up. Greed has caused them to forget the human being and that they were created to help people pay for things while making a REASONABLE profit. It's gotten out of hand. I think the lawsuit is a good wake up call. Their profits are very high and they can still survive if their profits lessen some. They've just become accustomed to dictating and having huge profit margins. It's not going to put them all out of business as they try to tell us it will. Time for a big re-vamp of the entire health industry.

They're getting everything they deserve and I hope the pay through the nose, they let a 17 year old girl die over saving a buck, yeah but we don't need national health care according to many, maybe this will amke people see the light, being insured means nothing when they can deny needed and appropriate care to save a buck, screw 'em I hope they lose their backsides on this one

They're lucky it was just a lawsuit, not charges of negligent homicide or even first degree murder. I know I've seen things done by insurance companies that I would gladly sit on a jury to hear them try to explain away.

The beginning of the end maybe.
It is just too bad a lawsuit has to happen before corporate giants actually give people what they pay for.

and of course, Republicans want to limit the amount of lawsuits, so these corporations have no limits.

I say it is the beginning of the insurance company's starting to let the doctors make the decisions.
