If I want to go back to it, or let the person know that their question is a nice one. Some people delete their questions if they don't get enough answers, but I like to put a star to show that their question is better than a lot of pointless ones that get many stars. Also, if it is interesting or makes me think hard.

I usually accidentally click on the star. But sometimes if it's a question I'd like to know the answer to myself, I star it and go back to it later.

alot of times, i dont feel the question is all that interesting. i just do it because i want my contacts to finish blowing the question up after i've gone.
