my USB cord wont work?

when i try to connect to my ipod or psp it comes up with a little box in the corner and says device not recognized and when i click on it, it says No drivers are installed for this device what do i do to fix it?

It is not the cord. You need to go to this site and get the drivers (software) for your Ipod, load in the drivers and then you will be able to use it.
