If this question looks familiar, there's a good reason for it. Someone else asked it earlier this morning, but EVERY time I tried to respond to it, I got an "Error 999" message from Yahoo when I clicked on the "Submit" button.
SO -- I guess the only way I can respond to it is to RE-ask it, here, and then follow up with the answer I *tried* to give it before. Here's the answer I couldn't get through ---
"Ron Paul clearly has the same chance of getting nominated as a snowflake would have of surviving in a fully-stoked blast furnace. As for the other Republican candidates -- they all are in the pocket of the UN-Christian "Religious" Radical Right, and I wouldn't vote for any of them if they were running for dogcatcher. Here's why. (Right-click on each link, and "Open in New Window" that you can easily close. Then tell me if you'd still vote for a Republican, if you currently feel so inclined.) ---

It's only logical that this contains a NEW question, so... please feel free to tell us if you'd still vote for a Republican, if you currently felt so inclined AFTER seeing the above links. And if so, how you can justify doing so.)

To "Yaakov" -- Even if Ron Paul weren't a fruitcake, THIS ALONE would be a deal-breaker for any fair-minded egalitarian. (Right-click, open in new window.) ---

To "Yaakov" -- If you think Ron Paul would enable us to leave in freedom... then tell me how free America would be if he, or any other Republican were to win, as discussed in the topmost of the three links, above.

And what makes Huckabee's chances any greater ? he has no grassroots support, No Money..only media welfare........
If Ron does not get the nomination, it wont be from lack of support, it will be from the nazi neocon party trying to derail him by hacking the polling machines.

I like Ron Paul. I'd vote for him if he's on the ticket in a hot second.
I don't think he will be however.
Plus, he's so right on, he's scarey. Ron Paul would play America like a drug addict and simply ...cut off his drugs. Ouch! That could hurt.
I'm not sure America can handle that right now. The USA needs some time in a padded cell to think about what has just happened. Then, slowly we ease the Red, Whit and Blue Gargantuan out into the real world.
Ron Paul strikes me as a cold turkey kinda guy. I personally love that, but I"m scared America would jump out a window if made to get real so quick.
Maybe next election? I like this guy. Maybe Mit could bring a little of the Lord our way, run our country like one of those many companies he made so many millions to line his own pocket with.
In any event , we have to beat the Bush whacking we have taken back, so we can start anew. My hope is for America, but I worry. I don't think we ever been down this low.

Ron Paul is the only candidate on either side who upholds our consitution. To vote for any of the others would be an act of treason. So, no. If he doesn't get the nod, then I will not vote at all. I couln't sleep at night after casting my vote for the very people who want to destroy America. With that said, I suppose if a gun were held to my head, I would vote republican. I'd rather the religious right be in charge than the immoral secular progressives. But then, that's just trading one form of oppression for another. However, I do feel safer knowing that my neighbors are God fearing people, although I am not.
Now, about the abortion rights thing. I'm pro-choice. Not because I am a "baby killer" but because it IS NOT the federal government's place to make moral decisions for the people. Should it be a state's rights issue? Absolutely. When a majority of people believe something, that should be the rule of law. This IS still a democracy right? We all know that this country is morally balkanized. What's right for San Franfreako might not be right for Nebraska. So you would push your secular progressive moral agends on Nebraskans? How about this, if you don't like it in Nebraska.......move? It's the same llogic that compelled me to move from the oppresive communist regime of Illinois. (Rot in hell Lincoln Land)

I think you will be surprised by the number of Paul supporters in the primaries. I don't expect him to win, because I don't think Americans have any backbone left. They all just want to leach off of everyone else. I'll still vote for him, though. He's the only one running who actually stands for freedom and responsibility. If he does not get the nomination, then I couldn't vote for anyone else in good conscience. I will have to withdraw my consent to be governed by statist thugs no matter what label they claim.
The dope who keeps saying Paul's poll numbers are shrinking is trying really hard to convince himself. You can say the moon is made of green cheese all you want, but that won't make it so. Paul's numbers keep rising.

P.S. No, that is not a problem. In fact, Paul's stance on abortion is the only rational solution. Murder, theft, drug use, abortion, etc., are simply not within the federal jurisdiction. It is against the law for the federal government to make laws about such things. Paul is opposed to abortion, but he is also opposed to anarchy and capriciousness. He recongnizes that the president--indeed no one in the federal government--has the legal right to make rules about abortion. If you want to change that, then work for a constitutional amendment to that effect. In the meantime I will vote for the man who wants me to live in freedom rather than under dictatorial lawlessness.
P.P.S. I'm not going to read those links--Call me lazy if you want. It might be true.--but I'll answer your follow-up question anyway. Ron Paul cannot, by himself, enable us to live in freedom. That would take the cooperation of Congress, the Judiciary, the States, and all lower levels of government, as well as a significant daily effort on our part. However, electing Paul as president would be a major step in the right direction. Electing any of the other Republocrats would be a step in the wrong direction, however small or great.

When Ron Paul fizzles out after Super Tuesday, look for Ron Paul to run as either a Libertarian or an independent. He simply has a ton of money, money that by law can only be used to run for president, or returned to the donors.
If you can count on anything from a politician, you can count on this. You can count on them to spend money you give them. There is no way that he's going to give that back, and he is going to instead either run an independent campaign, or bring a nice war chest to the Libertarian party. The Libertarian party would be wise to take him up on it as it would give them more money to run a presidential campaign than they have seen in years, if ever.

I believe that Ron Paul will get the nomination.
I saw him on "Meet the Press" this morning, and I still believe that he is our only choice.
My children, who have no experience with real conservatism agree with me. Even the young are fed up with big government.
When we were young, we changed the world. Our children believe, like we did, that it is possible, and they are a lot less noisy than we were.
I think that you and many others will be surprised in the spring.
