My husband's family are Polish decendents, so we all get together for Vigalia (Christmas Eve, actually "First Light").

They do it every year and as the family grows, so does the celebration. Over 50 people this year.

Good times

Pop the cork, me and my sister will be drinking a berry cocktail. Ill be reading a bit from Matthew 1. Then by 11:00 pm or 11:30 pm, Ill be watching the pilot episode of the Simpsons like I do every year. By 12:00 AM Christmas day, we unwrap the gifts we got for eachother, and wallow in them, and thank the lord!

Well tomorrow (Christmas Eve) I shall be going Christmas shopping. Ugh, no I'm not the person who was shopping last minute but my dad. He tried not to put it off and I'm not trying to blaim him, but he was out of town (he's a truck driver with the army thing or something), and the times he wanted to go shopping for gifts, he couldn't. So I will be going with him so I can help him. It will be fun but also very hectic. I can only imagine how long the lines will be.

After that, my dad and I might try to get a meal for Christmas maybe, we might head to a buffet or Outback Steakhouse, or maybe if it's my choice we'll get sushi. It will be a little celebration of ours.

Once that is done, I will be dropped off at my friends house where we'll gather everyone else and walk down to the square. The little street or city place (can't describe it) is always so decorated nicely, and the square is decorated to a T. My friends and I try every year to go, but we always can't but this year we can, and nobody is going ot jinx it for us. We walk down to the square (rain or shine, snow or not) and stop by Arabica's (a coffee place) and get maybe a pastry, ice cream, hot chocolate, etc and eat or drink that while walking around the square and just talking. It's really quite fun and the time just flies by.

After that my dad will pick me up, and we will try to head down to my mommy's work, she works at a nursing home she is their top RN there and in my opinion the best around. She should try to become a DON, but I'm babbling. So we'll visit her and I'll see how she's doing and hug her. She always works on Christmas Eve, that's how it's always been if she doesn't work Christmas Eve she's stuck working Christmas Day. Then I will try to play my flute for them and maybe the patients. Some there really like me, and I like to visit the elders there, I feel sorry for them because they have no one (most do, some are lucky if they get even one visitor).

Now if I can't visit her this year, because the lines are stupendously long, or it snows too much (doubt it) then I will just call her up on my cell phone or give her a nice long text, wishing her a very Merry Christmas.

Then I just sit around home, trying to keep myself busy. Either I watch the Christmas specials, but I have certain once's I watch. I have to watch the Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron, Fairly Oddparents, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Elf, That's so Raven, and a couple more. Oh and I have to watch the Degrassi one which I know they'll have it played. I also might go on the net, maybe come on here for a while or IM or E - mail any of my friends and relatives outside of the country (which is more than half).

Hopefully my dad buy's a lot of presents for the relatives so I can wrap their presents, I love wrapping gifts I don't know why I just love getting all creative. I go crazy when wrapping gifts.

I wait for my mom to come home always because I don't like falling asleep when my mom's not home from work on Christmas yet. When she comes home I run up to her and give her a great big hug, and say Merry Christmas and I just get all happy and crazy. But I have to give her a little breathing room and get settled from work and stuff. So I usually give her a half hour or two. When she's ready we're all allowed to open one, and I mean only one Christmas present. And we all have to pick the Christmas present for each other. My dad usually gets a book or a CD, I might get PJ's, and my mom usually gets a nice Trance/Techno CD or a big novelty mug I bought filled with candies.

After that it's time for me to fall asleep, usually I read or just watch TV and fall asleep.

The next day I wake up, go to the bathroom, turn up the heat. And I wake at around 10 or 11 a.m. After taht I'll greet my dad and mommy and we'll all open our presents.

After that is done we just relax a bit and then we all get ready. We head to my grandmothers where we all exchange our gifts and wish her a Happy Christmas (she's stuck in a wheelchair and her apartment has no elevator or ramps). Then we head to my uncles. And it's really fun. I get to perform this year, which I'm really excited for and we open gifts and eat. Basically enjoy everyone's company.

I love Christmas and tomorrow it will be here and also the next day.

I wish you the best Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!!!
