Well I'm currently using my brother's computer and the monitor is just starting to act up. My old computer had the same problem until the monitor just finally decided to not work on with the computer. The problem is that the menu on the monitor constantly continues to pop up. When I try to hit the menu keys to exit it they either don't work or the menu goes away for a few seconds.
The monitor is an eMachine eView 17F3 CRT.

Definitely an issue with the monitor button itself. Try to clean it or get yourself a new monitor for Christmas :)

Hi. Almost sounds like the menu button on the monitor is stuck. Try to clean and loosen it (UNPLUGGED!).

ur menu buttton must have got pressed very hard or stuck in one position.
