Get some ear was softner... but you can try Olive Oil, which loosens the wax.

I also find a REALLY hot bath as well loosens the wax and this gets it to 'pop' fairly quickly

Best stuff is from the Chemist though

So is mine!!!!!!!!! Okay what I have been doing is 3% hydrogen peroxide. I saturate cotton ball tilt head and squeeze cotton ball. I have read that onion juice heated slightly and placed in ear will help. Also take a deep breath and slightly pinch nose as if u were blowing it (gently). Sweet oil (warmed) helps pain. Another get a water bottle......heat water.....Add salt (prefer sea salt)......Put on ear. This aids in pain AND most importantly draws infection out. Last but not least. Hopefully you are sitting for this one!!! This real hill billy chick told me this at work okay. I looked on internet and SLIGHTLY TRIED WITH FEAR LOL and it worked for a while. Here goes place your own urine in ear. I must say this was scarey and I only did a little bit but prob best results of all. I am in New Orleans humidity and weather really weird. REight now the weather does not know if it wants to be sunny, rainy (this is when my ears block) or cold. Well good luck I know that it is rough and I hope that u get better

I used to get ear aches, blocked ears... all the time..
And from personal experiance i think that the following methods work best...

1)...Works best.. Get a hot water bottle, fill it up. Put it on your pillow, wrap it in something so it's not too hot. Then if you lay with it on your pillow with your ear on the water bottle. this will loosen the stuff thats blocking your ear.

2) as someone all ready said. Put olive oil in your ear, it works. But i find that if i do the same as the first method but put the oil in your ear, and instead of wrapping the hot water bottle in cloth wrap it in a towel, this will heat the oil up in your ear and will, loosen up your ear..

3) not as effective, but has been known to work. Place your first finger behind your ear and your middle finger the other side of your ear. Gently massage it.. like you would if your sinuses were blocked on your nose... It can help

Good luck.xx

The thyroid gland is situated at the front of the throat, below the Adam’s apple. It comprises two lobes that lie on either side of the windpipe, joined in front by an isthmus. The thyroid gland secretes hormones to regulate many metabolic processes, including growth and energy expenditure. Hypothyroidism means the thyroid gland is underactive and fails to secrete enough hormones into the bloodstream. This causes the person’s metabolism to slow down.

I have used hydrogen peroxide straight from the bottle. Lay with the bad ear up and pour a cap full in. You will hear and feel it fizz, which can help loosen foreign matter if present. Pull your ear around in a circle and massage the base. Drain ear and dry.

Lay with bad ear up and
pour about a teaspoon of pre warmed oil (any cooking or mineral oil is fine) into ear and massage. Place a cotton ball or cloth on outer ear and lay with bad ear down to drain.

Lay with bad ear down on a heating pad or hot gel pack.

The secret to swabbing your ears is to not push and compact ear debris inward. If you slowly insert swab to the back of the ear (do not jamb or cram!) then apply pressure outward to the walls, pulling out as you circle around the canal gathering dust, wax and moisture.

Another alternative is ear candling. It takes a helper and a special candle set up, as you can get burned or start a fire if done incorrectly. Do some research on it, as it is an interesting process to try at least once.

Whatever you do - Do not mess around with your ears.
The cause is ear-glue and is recognised as such by doctors .
Do not force anything in there that shouldn't be there naturally. Make an appointment with your doctor and arrange for them to syringe it out if necessary.
Do not attempt to pop your ears by blowing air in there as this could damage your ear drum.
Your ears are more sensitive than you think and should be treated with respect.
Any infection can lead to serious consequences.
Got the point ! good.

Put Hydrogen Peroxide in ear. Leave for 10 minutes or longer. It will bubble and sound funny in ear. Do this for a couple days till wax dissolves. It dissolves slowly. The Peroxide treatment also works for head colds. AS soon as you feel head cold coming on, do the same thing, and it clears it all up.

i always put hydrogen peroxide in a bulb syringe, and then dispense a tiny amount into my ear and lay on my side for 20-30 minutes. the peroxide breaks down the wax and makes it easier for your body to flush it out. I've done this for years and haven't been treated for an ear infection since i was a child (which with my constant sinus infections that almost unheard of). also, if your ear trouble is caused by sinusitis, look into getting a neti pot, i love mine!

I went to an ear doctor once and he tilted my head, then took a syringe filled with warm water and shot it into my ear. This chunk of what he said was soap that had built up in my ear came out (gross!). I could IMMEDIATELY feel the difference and could hear perfectly.
I'm not saying that you should do this yourself (but you could), but it works.

get one of those pipette thingies from the chemist and put a few drops of warmish oil in your ear and then a piece of cotton wool at bedtime. It should work within about three days.
