You need to ask your school what areas the test covers. I know that we give a waiver exam and tell people the specific book we use for the questions on the exam - I'm assuming that they would have to give you similar information to be fair. Don't waste a lot of time asking others outside your school for information, because it is unlikely to be relevant.

When I did mine, I tested on Word, Power Point, Excel, general computer knowledge and internet.
I had to know basic terms, URL, RAM, hard drive etc... internet part asked questions about browser, bookmarks - common knowledge stuff.
Word and Power Point were very easy - although I do have a lot of experience with both... I've never been taught how to use either of them. Excel was a bit harder, only because I haven't used it as much - but I basically had to make a graph and a chart and then insert it into another document. Seems like I had to label the stuff and maybe change the labels on one that was already made.
On Word, I had to change and set tabs, margins, layout... inserted word art, pictures, hyperlinks etc... Power Point - I don't remember...
Play around with all the programs if you have them...
Good luck!
