What do you think of that MTV show Sweet Sixteen?

oh my GOD what a horrible group of individuals
self centered, narcisistic, whiny, spoiled, selfish....

does anyone actually think these girls/boys are "cool" or is it all just a joke to you too...

p.s. with the amount of money they spent on their Me-party, they could have helped a poor family and actually changed lives!!!

You certainly got the "spoiled" part down pat! I think I've seen an episode of two, and these parties - themes and all - are probably worth more than their parents can really afford. Of course, this could be a part of the trend where parents willingly throw these parties for the kids, in an attempt to LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH THEM (because they had such deprived childhoods; you see some mothers doing this with their daughter's weddings.) These sweet sixteen parties could rival those of Veronica Lodge, or even the annual Christmas bash at the White House. Ridiculous!

This is why I refuse to ever have a sweet sixteen or get married, because it is a self centered convention and a waste. The people on sweet sixteen are disgusting, but I blame the parents for being so spineless and letting their kids walk all over them. I agree and half of the time it ends with the 16 year old in tears because their Mercedes is the wrong color. The reason why people hate Americans, plain and simple.

Actually I agree with you and what made MTV decide that seeing these privileged children throw a birthday party using Mommy and/or Daddy's money was "the cool in thing" to watch for teems who aren't as well off.
I mean seriously I saw the show once and as an adult was truly offended to see these spoiled children getting whatever they want because Mommy&Daddy give in to them.It show's a distasteful side to our society that should be kept in the dark.It also proves the stereotype of today's youth being raised with silver spoons in their mouths and fast cars they don't deserve with their cell phones and text messaging.Its truly disgusting and they should remove the show.Perhaps we should start a petition for the show's removal...

Amen. I am so tired of that mentality those teenagers have, not to mention the parents that fed and cultivated it. Those kids should be in boot camp or a third world country, so they can learn about true humility and respect for others. And the parents need to be locked up, for creating a bunch of brats for society to deal with.

I think that they are spoiled kids but in the end you can't tell people what to spend their money. Maybe if i was that loaded i might do the same once in a while. But who knows I don't have that much dough

Yeah, half the time I want to smack (not literally) the people on that show. All they care about is themselves, honestly.The kids are so disrespectful towards their parents- especially after all the parents go through to try and make them happy. it just goes to show you, money can't buy love. Just a lot of ego and a bad attitude..

i hate the way there all so spoiled...like that one girl who started crying and yelling because she got her car before the party?! but i do still watch it tho...its funny how many people say they hate it, yet obviously alot of people watch it or it wouldnt be still on.....i also agree its def a reflection on there parents for letting them act that way....all the kids on that show get so much crap its rediculous and yet not one of them looks truely happy and they take alll they get completely for granted, id never want to be like that, id say im happier than most of them.....
