The cardstock size is 4 and 7/8th by 7 in a landscape format. I have set my custom paper size to do that and my margins but it keeps cutting the first two lines off and is printing to high. When i look at it on print preview it looks fine. any ideas?

Wifey and I did that a few years back using WordStar for Windows. The trick is that your printer is not cooperating. Not all printers do. Get some extra cardstock to do this experiment. You'll need it.

When using MS Word, you can define a custom size paper and feed that to the printer - but the printer might ALSO have a need to have a custom definition. In that case, you need to create a grid. (Use the MS Word Table function.) Fill in the exact size of your cardstock such that you have the 4-7/8 by 7 area filled in. Now play with the top margin and the gutter settings and such to place the grid on the printable area.

Also check for your printer having a way to define that special paper size. Frequently it is the interaction between Word and the printer that causes this problem. Check your printer's manual or help files to determine how to set a non-default form size; i.e. one not in the pre-defined list of stock sizes.
