I would say yes. Any communication, and the more of it the better! My doctor said it's proven their little heartbeat speeds up when they hear mommy & daddy. Proof that they recognize you and enjoy hearing from you. I talk to mine all the time, and have ever since I found out I was pregnant which was 6 weeks. No one really knows if they can or can't...but it is comforting knowing you're growing something so special inside of you and that it is excited at the sound of your voice. It's going to be great being a mom!

The only thing I know for sure is that the baby can recognize and respond to the mother's voice by 20 weeks. I forget when they actually start hearing. Maybe around 14-15 weeks?

Everything i'v read says that they can hear you and react to sound around 24-26 weeks. Although it may be a good idea to talk to them now, it will strengthen your bond with them, and you never know... they just might be able to hear you.(prove the doctors wrong haha). I hope this helped good luck!!!

I am 5 1/2 months preg and was at the doctor recently and was told that my baby would be able to react to sounds now.... so I'd say 5 months.... you can look at www.babycenter.com/pregnancycalender it can give you updates on what you're baby is able to do at each stage of pregnancy.
