I surely have. When I was a kid, it was the thing to look forward to in the summer. My dad & his brother bought a farm & my cousins ( all male ) would come down when school was out & stay w;/us til my uncle came in.

It was a time of innocence. When i could play in the forts w/my boy cousins & climb trees. Pull out the sofa bed & lay down w/the cousin next age than me & watch the late movie & get scared to death. then i'd go on to bed & we 'd not think nothing of it. Innocence.

When my uncle & aunt who were both teachers, came down later in the summer, we'd all get together & have a weiner roast under the sweet gum tree. Me & my cousins got Mason jars & caught lightning bugs to see who could catch the most. It was the hi-light of the season!! them was good old days.

Now my uncle's passed away & my aunt lives in front of me, here, the boys 2 live off, & one moved back here from Texas & started his own drug store.

We ought to get together & do it again. For old times sake.

You bet I have! I don't care if it gets a bit burnt, either, cause nothing beats outdoor cookin on an open fire! I have also made Rice Krispies Treats over an open fire. Then the S'mores- and many other fun things. Now I'm hungry. lol!

Many times, it is one of the easiest ways to prepare dinner for the family while camping. And they taste better that way.
