You might have really seen a mouse. Lack of sleep can make you look awful, feel bad and feel weird. I know, i have been there.

Read the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_deprivation
It says it can cause hallucinations (visual and aural)

Yes you can start seeing things when you don't get enough sleep. Is there anyway you could get someone to stay with you and help with your son a couple of nights so you can catch up?? I think it would be best to find some help if possible.

As for sleep I would try taking a warm bath and just soaking while sipping on some camamile tea. I use to like to put on my favorite cd on low volume so I could just consintrate on the song. Sometimes I can't sleep if My mind is busy. The music helps me concintrate on just following the melody.

Not much you can do about the seeing things...happens to me when I'm overly tired and stressed. But it's never something I'm thinking about though, usually something strange and out of place. What I would do is ask a family member if they could watch your son for a few hours just to let you catch up and not have to worry about him. Maybe take a warm bath and just jump into bed after...maybe get some lavender candles to help relax you. But I would stay away from any kind of medications for sleep.

Im 35 weeks but right there with you! I go to sleep at 9 and wake at 12-1am. Insomnia is kicking my butt!!!! I think I see and hear things all the time or I assume my hubby was talking to me and he really wasn't. There is really nothing you can do...I have tried it all and I am getting concered as this can't be good for the baby at all!!!! I have a 2 year old so I can't even rest in between work and lights out.

You are pregnant and not getting enough sleep and just because you didn't find the mouse doesn't mean it wasn't there. I wouldn't worry about it either way, hallucination or not being able to find the mouse just because you looked. Good luck!

Continued lack of sleep can lead to both visual and auditory hallucinations, but mostly visual. It will also stress baby. Have you talked to your doctor about this? All the previous suggestions are good, and you can also try relaxation techniques in the evening (deep breathing, warm bath, massage) and warm milk (has tryptophan like turkey). All the best to you.

Yea lack of sleep can do it. I once woke up and saw a spider on my bed. I searched the bed like crazy ( i am terrified). Then i sat and thought about it. It was so dark that there was no way i really could have seen it. It freaked me out though.

yes that can be lack of sleep and being pregnant! both can cause that. My mind got very wacky when I was pregnant and still does when I am tired

Yeah I think it can probably make you see things at times. Plus being pregnant I am assuming would have an effect on it...
