Ahhh, Sunday afternoon.......no work to do.......plenty of time to just chill out and enjoy the day........think I'll watch the Bruins at Penguins to day on Center Ice.....maybe BGL and Chara will actually have a good scrap this time.....lemme see the Center Ice Schedule.

What?!?!?! Blacked out?!?!?!

AGAIN, the frucking game is being broadcast on NHL network, and is blacked out in my area on my Center Ice package, even though I live thousands of miles from Pittsburgh and/or Boston and my cable carrier does not have NHL network.

Please somebody give me an explanation that justifies why I shouldn't murder all the people involved in the creation of this NHL Network.

TBL - Different question, but same urge to kill. Last time it was the Gap advertisement that caused my rage.

CME - I probably would, but I rent my house and I dont think the owner wants me installing a dish.

Chris - I probably wont be at this place much longer. I will buy a place soon I hope.

LITY - If I find a petition started or something similar to keep us Center Ice buyers from being screwed, I will indeed complain mightily. I certainly dont think its fair to expect people to pay a large sum ($150 +/-) AND also pay for NHL Network.

TBL you're correct. The first time I typed it incorrectly, and I couldnt fix it so I deleted it. I re-typed it about one minute later, though.

LITY - Thanks. That means I must destroy my 1. cable provider, 2. the players union, AND 3. the NHL network! Hmm, gonna need some gatorade for this task.

Andie - My point exactly. If we have already paid the NHL for center ice, we shouldn't be blacked out for games shown on a network we dont even have. I wasnt aware of the 40 game thing that LITY mentioned, but thats a scam too, if you ask me.

JS - What is "Legal" is not important to me at this point.

I'm in Toronto, and the game is blacked out by my provider because the game exceeds the 40 that Centre Ice has this past week.

So.....if...
a) your cable carrier does not provide NESN
b) your cable carrier does not provide Fox Sports Network - Pennsylvania
c) your cable carrier does not provide the NHL Network
d) your NHL Centre Ice package provided you with less than 40 games this week (there were 52 games this past week so you should have had 12 games blacked out in total)

You can complain to the NHL (Bettman has nothing to do which 40 games your provider provides you with each week).

The NHL and the NHLPA think you should. Their mindset is that they need to get paid for every viewing. The NHL has made Centre Ice available. The Players Association has capped the number of games that you can watch at 40/wk. The problem is that your cable provider chooses which 40 games you get to watch...not the NHL

How is it you have Center Ice & it's blacked out??? I'd be pi$$ed too. I have a dish and I get the Ottawa/NY & Jersey/Calgary games. You must get at least those. I feel your pain. I ordered a digital box before the season started. I was hoping I could get a good bulk of the games on Rogers Sportsnet Ontario,Pacific, etc. but they were blocked out once the season started. You want to talk about murderous rampage. Now I can sometimes listen to the game on satellite radio.(Lame) I can't get the NHL network either. How can the game be promoted if no one can see it?

It clkearly states on NHL.com that you will see UP TO 40 out of market games.

It's not legally a scam if it is advertised as such

See this is your second go at this question, eh?

One word: Bettman. The root of all evil.

EDIT - But didn't the first time you ask this question get deleted?

I clicked on it and it said "This question has been deleted"
