Oh yes-I work in a hospital and I see this going on everyday. Medicaid has stopped using picture ID's on their cards, so they pass their cards on to freinds and family members who need them. So we are paying for every illegal born here and then some.

No. The only reason why illegal immigrants are a problem is tha tthe right-wing, under pressure from unethical businesses and racists, has refused to enact immigration reform for the 12 years they controlled Congress--and blocked a bipartisan effort to do so this year as well.
The solution to the immigration problem is to enact a guest worker and amnesty program (the amnesty wouldn't be necessary if it worn't for that same inaction by the right-wing--THEY CREATED this mess, no one else).
78% of the American people support guest worker/amnesty. They don't support that stupid walll, deportation--and certaainly NOT a constitutional ammendment. Furthermore, most people are well aware that the right-wing bases its rhetoric smearing immigrants on blatent falshoods--like the one you just fell for. Sorry, bu tyou are simply wrong: there is NO evidence tha tany illegals are coming to this country while pregnant jsut to secure residency. It's simply a lie spread by some racists--and you should check the facts, instead of buying such BS.
Immigrants have always come to America--and in many periods in far larger numbers than today. They get here, they take crappy jobs--and over time they learn the language, learn American customs, and become goodcitizens. And--in every such period, there have been a few bigots spreading lies. Do yourself a favor--start getting the facts, instead of believeing some hateful propaganda--or people are going to think you are one of the jerks spreading the lies.

NO! We can't have a constitutional amendment just on the whim of some party's political agenda. This is why the founders made it difficult to amend the Constitution. Why do we need a Constitutional amendment for that anyway? Simple laws will work just fine.

To answer your question;
This issue has been argued before, the democrats have blocked or tabled this argument for the last 20 + years. The last was bill HR4437 in 2005.

Introduced last year by the author of HR 4437, Republican James Sensenbrenner, and endorsed by other Republican elected officials including Tom Tancredo, Nathan Deal, J. D. Hayworth and Jack Kingston, "The Citizenship Reform Act" proposes that only children born to American citizens, naturalized citizens or permanent residents be given U. S. citizenship.

I'm conservative when it comes to immigration, but as an Afro-American, I am very uncomfortable with the thought of changing anything about the 14th Amendment. Same goes for the 13th and 15th Amendments (although those two aren't really relevant to immigration).

Birth should not make you a citizen unless at least one of your parents is a citizen or here legally.

Yes. We can't afford to be "that country" to immigrants anymore, unless you think all of this Mexican slave labor is a good thing.

Illegal Immigrants come to this Country because they desperately want the life this Country can give them. Instead of finding ways to throw them all out, we should be making it easier for immigrants to get legal access to this Country.
