who would win in a fight, superman or silversurfer?

From what I understand from reading the comics is that superman can not breath in space, he just has the ability to hold his breath for a long time, anyone care to comment on this, feel free.

the Silversurfer. he has the power cosmic man! plus Supes can't breath in space, or have powers in a system with a red sun. all Surfer's gotta due is take the fight to space and he wins. if Surfer can survive all the radiation, extreme cold, and the vacuum of space, what chance does the man of steel have?
EDIT: Supes use to be able to breathe in space but since the70's or 80's it been retro-conned that he can't breath, just like they said hold his breath. as for the fact that Supes can move 16xs the speed of light, Surfer can travel between whole galaxies, inside his lifetime. how much faster than light do you think he is? sorry man of tomorrow would become a thing of history.

ARE YOU CRAZY..SUPERMAN CAN BREATH IN SPACE..O AND SUPERMAN IS WAY TOO FAST FOR THE SILVER SURFER. HE TOPS OUT OVER 16x THE SPEED OF LIGHT. HE NEVER GOES THIS FAST BECAUSE IT WOULD DESTROY EARTH DUE TO THE FRICTION IT WOULD CAUSE IN THE ATMOSPHERE. IT WOULD BE A GREAT FIGHT..BUT AT THE HEIGHTS OF BOTH THEIR POWERS..SUPES WOULD DEF TAKE THIS ONE.
