The wireless adapter connects to your wireless router then to the internet. If you want to connect it to the computer, both have to be connected to the wireless the adapter. You also need to be running Windows XP Media Center edition or Windows Vista. If you do not have this, you may share files through windows file sharing.

That looks like a Router, but does it contain a Wireless Access Point? Check the documentation, and if it does, a wireless adapter connected to your Xbox should connect easily to your network once you have you router/network configured properly.

Here is a page with lots of information, read up on the wireless section or the wired if you go that route:

Vista Networking:

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/networking.mspx

XP Networking:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/default.mspx

Follow the directions which come with the router. Just take it a step at a time, as it isn't difficult to setup and configure a router with a network, but it is step intensive, and somebody doing it for the first time could get bogged down in the details.

Just take a deep breath, read all the instruction before starting, then just do it one step at a time, as I said above. You will soon have your network up and running and enjoying your Xbox.

There is a page on adding an Xbox in both Vista and XP Networking articles, but both are very simular in nature. The wording may be different for the folders you access, and the Wizards you use, but it is all very much the same, and simple as pie. If you get confused, just contact your routers manufacturers technical department and they will walk you through setting up the router.

Good luck and much fun with your new Xbox.
