if you really have a fetish with brushing your teeth, do it between every meal then.

I am 35 weeks pregnant, and have a 3 year old who I breastfed as an infant. I showered every other day, kept a child to make a little extra income, brushed my teeth every day.. blah blah. I had a hard time keeping up with the house, I went through a really bad depression for a while. Just didnt know what to do with myself or how. That passed though. I help my husband with mowing in the summer and keeping a child after school and over summer break for a little extra income, I write books, cook and clean for the most part- my husband helps from time to time. We're lucky, he works for the PO and only works about 30-38 hours a week and yet we have enough money to live comfortably. So he's home for a good portion of the day most days. What works for one family doesnt work for others. Some men work like man men, some women take a while to get their bearings together after babies... and its not like we live in a culture where most 20 somethings havnig babies have seen what a functional SAHM's life and daily routine looks like, as most of our parents worked and its the social norm.

That is too much, you could cause damage as I did. I didn't know it but brushing too hard or too often can loosen your teeth and that can cause them to be less healthy. I used to brush my teeth hard at least five times a day. This loosened several teeth and I had to have them pulled. Now I have a partial denture.
Just brush after meals and before bed. Use a soft tooth brush and you will be fine for a long time.

Depends on why you are brushing them so much. If it is because you are OCD about keeping them healthy, then you are defeating the purpose. It is possible to brush TOO much. Try weaning yourself off little by little til you get to three times a day. That's the healthy amount.

Just brush after every meal. Do you have 10 meals a day? Just remember excessive brushing can hurt your gums if you are the vigorous type.

You've obviously got some sort of OCD. 10 times is a bit much. You are at risk of having reseeding gums at that rate. You should see your GP. Do you have any other compulsions?

That's not right. You'll brush your gums away. 2 times per day.

Perhaps you just really like having clean teeth. I remember my dentist telling me not to floss so much. He laughed . I thought he was crazy.
