I vaguely remember what he said but now he's back with the Dolphins .

So what was his real reason ?

T.O. pissed him off. And Jerry Jones tried to be to much of a coach and wouldn't give Parcells his space.

Dallas Parcells

He's not coaching the Dolphins, he's their VP, it pays nicer than being an NFL analyst. With the Cowboys situation....and Jerry Jones being the way he is....it was either Parcells goes or TO goes. Parcells knew Jones wanted to keep TO....so Parcells left.

Earnest...from what I remember of his departure from the Cowboys he said he was retiring from coaching.

During his time at Dallas, his brother died, which kinda took it's toll on him and let him see him own mortality. The Tuna has been coaching for what seems like 'forever'...and he was beginning to lose his passion on the sidelines. Being a head coach for a team with such passion as the Cowboys is very demanding....and Tuna just didn't have it....

I do believe when he left Dallas, it was his third or fourth time retiring from coaching!

With that...I wish him well in the front office in Miami.

He just said that he was tired of coaching, and felt it was time to leave the profession. That's why he's going in to be a front office guy with the Dolphins, and why he won't be involved in the coaching beyond making hiring/firing decisions for the position.

I know he didn't always get along with Owens, but I think the daily grind and that tough playoff loss last season were bigger factors.

Because he didn't like being the co-head coach along with Jerry Jones. Jones brought in T.O. against Parcells' (and mine) wishes.

Likely the Jerry Jones interference......He wants to be the coach and yet, he knows he sucks, but tries to maintain control anyway...Parcells couldnt work like that.

Because he is a power hungry rat...see what he did to the Jets. He is a spoiled brat & has to has his own way all the time. If not for the talent of his 2 superbowl teams, he would be considered mediocrer at best.

Two words: Jerry Jones

He wanted absolute full control and an owner who would completely submit to his will; Jerry Jones was not that owner. Parcells has always wanted to be GM and coach, apparently more GM than coach.
